Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold, is a graphic designer, musician, and songwriter from Nigeria. He started his career early and gained notoriety in 2014 when he released a version of One Direction’s “Story of My Life,” titled Sade.

Adekunle Kosoko, the family’s lone son and firstborn child, was born on January 28, 1987. He was born and reared in Ifako-Agege and Ikotun, Lagos State, and comes from a royal family in Lagos. The parents of Adekunle are educators. He completed his elementary and senior studies at public schools. After that, he studied at the Lagos State Polytechnic, where he graduated with a degree in Industrial Design and Arts.
When he was younger, he sang in the church choir. At the age of 15, he began creating music. He made his debut in the music business with The Bridge.

Adekunle began with his church’s teen choir. He spent almost eleven years there. He said that renowned artists like Evangelist Ebenezer Obey and King Sunny Ade were the first to inspire him musically.
Adekunle later formed a band and composed his debut song in 2007. Before they broke up, they performed with Skales and GT Da Guitarman among other band members.
After that, he went solo and wrote songs behind the scenes until releasing his rendition of One Direction’s “Story of My Life,” titled Sade, in December 2014.
